NCN Health Cobram Nominated for Community Award.

Cobram Hospital was nominated for Community Event of the Year, as part of the Moira Shire Australia Day Awards Ceremony held in Cobram on January 26.

The hospital held an event in October last year to mark 75 years since the Cobram Hospital, now NCN Health Cobram, was purchased by the community from Dr Gerald Kennedy.  The health service celebrated with an Open Day, historic photo wall unveiling, sharing of hospital history, guest speakers, lunch and cake.

NCN Health CEO Mark Ashcroft accepted the nomination on behalf of the health service and said it was a fantastic recognition.

“The Cobram Hospital has been an incredibly important part of this community for decades, having been established by the Drs Kennedy and purchased by the community in 1949. Our event celebrated the history of the health service together with the many staff, board, auxiliary members, volunteers and community members whose dedication, commitment and resilience have shaped Cobram Hospital and ensured it’s growth and continued service to the community for 75 years. We are pleased to be recognised and thank the Moira Shire and Rotary Club of Cobram.”

Winner of Community Event of the Year went to ‘The Cobram Community Fundraiser – Love Your Sister Event’ that raised $45,000 for the Love Your Sister Charity Foundation in 2024. This event also platformed important cancer screening information and and was sponsored by the Moira Shire Council and NCN Health.

Congratulations to all the nominees and winners in 2025.
