VETiS Programs

Vocational Education Training in Schools (VETiS) at NCN Health is a two-year program which provides Year 11 and 12 school students with real experience working within the healthcare environment.

The VETis program enables students to access a wide variety of both clinical and non-clinical professions within their healthcare system. Upon successful completion of this two-year program student may obtain the following qualifications:

  • Certificate III Health Services Assistance
  • Certificate III Allied Health Assistance

VETiS is available across Nathalia, Cobram and Numurkah campuses.

GP Registrar Training Program

The Murray City Country Coast (MCCC) GP Training Program is based on an apprenticeship model where you will learn in-practice, under the supervision of an experienced GP Supervisor who will support you, providing formal and informal learning and teaching opportunities. This work-based learning is supplemented and consolidated by further learning and teaching activities, developed and implemented by the MCCC medical education team.

The MCCC GP Training Program is available at NCN Health Cobram. The doctors at NCN Health Cobram Medical Clinic have been training GP Registrars for nearly 10 years and are an accredited General Practice training organisation and MCCC GP training Clinic.

Murray to the Mountains Intern Program

The Murray to the Mountains (M2M) intern program is a unique training experience offering experience in both rural and regional hospitals and medical clinics.
The M2M program has been developed by a partnership between Alpine Health, NCN Health and Yarrawonga Health. The aim is to increase the number and capability of Rural Doctors by providing a comprehensive training program comprising of PGY 1 (Interns) and PGY 2 (Medical Graduates). The program also aims to expand the training capacity of practising Rural Doctors to assist them in attaining additional skills.

The core medical, surgical and emergency medicine rotations are provided at Northeast Health Wangaratta or Albury Wodonga Health (Wodonga & Albury Campus). The M2M program provides the opportunity for career progression from undergraduate to GP or the M2M experience is readily translated to metropolitan specialist practice.
